The Deutsche Sinfonietta Berlin was founded in 2019 by its Artistic Director, Dirk Joachim Wucherpfennig. It brings together outstanding young musicians – academists of major German orchestras, members of internationally renowned ensembles, and prizewinners of prestigious competitions.

The Deutsche Sinfonietta is dedicated to exploring both well-known and rarely performed works with a new generation of excellent musicians at the beginning of their careers. The orchestra presents unusual programs and innovative formats in exceptional venues – always at the highest artistic level and consciously beyond traditional conventions.

Our vision is to shape an outstanding international ensemble distinguished by artistic excellence and, at the same time, by a remarkable flexibility that sets it apart from many other orchestras.

The Deutsche Sinfonietta is officially recognized as a non-profit organization.
